Residents and guests enter through the app, using QR codes scanned at the gatehouse — and the community gains access data to inform decisions.

Residential gatehouses often mean lines and paperwork: a resident notifies the gatekeeper, the gatekeeper registers the guest, and the guest waits. On event days, the workload multiplies. Defense was created to digitize this process and remove manual registration from the gatehouse.
Software communicating with hardware. QR code scanning at the gatehouse had to be accurate and fast: nobody waits five seconds at the gate. Communication between the app, server, and reader also had to work with the community's actual network infrastructure, rather than ideal conditions.
Safer, faster access: immediate profile validation without manual gatehouse registration. For the first time, the community gained access data — who enters, when, and how often — to make security and operational decisions based on concrete information.
